‘Big Brother 9’ Winner Adam Jasinski Arrested for Selling Drugs

You may have already heard the news – indeed, if you follow Reality News Online on Twitter, I know you’ve seen it – Big Brother 9 winner Adam Jasinski has been arrested for illegally selling oxycodone. What makes it even more ironic, as we’re covering this on a reality TV site, is that he apparently told a federal agent that he used his Big Brother winnings as his seed capital – buying the drugs with money from the half-million and then reselling them for profit!

This is, of course, not Adam’s first appearance here in the Hall of Shame. He received a Hall of Shame Moment for his use of a slur to describe disabled children while he was supposed to be working for a charity that helped those kids! Then, a he was fired for those comments. As things turned out, I was the one who informed Adam that he’d been fired when I interviewed him the day after he’d won – he had been so caught up in post-show stuff that it seems nobody else bothered to pass along that little bit of information.

When I told him about it and asked if he was going to follow through with his declaration on the finale (before he knew he’d been fired, obviously) that he was going to donate $100,000 to the charity, he said he’d need to find out where that stands since I had just broken the news to him. I never did hear the outcome of that, but somehow I suspect it didn’t happen. I’m not sure how selling drugs goes along with the other thing he told me in response to that question, though: “I went into the house with the intention of helping children and I’m leaving the house with that same intention.”

According to news reports, Adam attempted to sell 2000 oxycodone pills after flying to Boston, Massachusetts, and showing the supposed buyer a sock containing plastic bags filled with the drugs. When federal agents moved to arrest Adam, he allegedly threw the sock under a parked car. Yeah, that’ll do the trick, Adam.

Of course, Adam is innocent until proven guilty, and we here at the Reality TV Hall of Shame will hold off on an actual induction until such point as he is convicted (as if that’s his biggest worry) – but things sure don’t look good for him! I mean, I never felt like he was the brightest bulb, but this (allegedly) takes the cake! It makes Richard Hatch’s tax evasion (for which he’s finally out of jail) look paltry by comparison.

If convicted, Adam faces a potential prison sentence – apparently up to 20 years – that will make his time locked in the Big Brother house seem like a day at the beach by comparison. But first, he’ll have to go through a trial that will grant him additional time added to his 15 minutes of fame that I’m sure he’d rather not have. In a season filled with shameful behavior – which saw mentions not just for Adam, but for Chelsia, Joshuah (twice), and Jacob as well – this one takes the cake.
